Unclog Air Conditioner Drain on Cars - air conditioner AC drive produces condensation as the air in the system blows through the condenser coil. Water discharges in the first condensate collection tray, which then flows through the AC output tube on the bottom of the machine. If the hose outlet always obstructed by debris or dirt, Condensate is full and you can spray water on foot or see passenger footpeg. You can solve this problem by unclogging AC drain pipe so that water can flow properly again.


How to Unclog Air Conditioner Drain on Cars


Raise front of car using hydraulic jack. Place jack stands beneath front wheels, called two jack points, and lower vehicle until it rests on jack stands.


Slide beneath engine compartment and locate AC drain tube. Use flashlight if necessary. AC drain tube is small rubber hose that usually protrudes from vehicle firewall. Some vehicles have two drain tubes. Consult service manual if you are unable to find AC drain tube.


Cut piece of metal wire approximately 12 inches long. Form 1/4-inch hook on end of wire.


Insert wire into AC drain tube as far as possible. Twist wire and push and pull several times to unclog any debris in tube. Water will often begin dripping out of tube once remove debris.


Remove wire from AC drain tube and lower vehicle.
