Make sure Bryant air conditioner's thermostat is set to Cool if cool air is not coming through vents. Select temperature setting that is lower than indoor room temperature displayed on thermostat. Open battery compartment on thermostat if you see low battery warning. Remove old batteries and insert new ones.
Check disconnect switch next to Bryant outdoor heat pump and make sure it is on if central air conditioner has not turned on after undertaking Step 1. Open electrical panel next to outdoor unit and make sure circuit breakers are on. If circuit breakers are on and unit is still not turning on, turn off circuit breakers and turn them back on. This resets them.
Check fan switch on thermostat and make sure it is on if vents are not blowing air.
Inspect outdoor unit. Remove any debris that has settled around base of Bryant pump. This will allow base pan to drain properly. It can also eliminate standing water inside outdoor unit.
Remove air filters from filter compartment on indoor unit. If they are dirty, brush off dirt and debris. Clogged air filters can limit airflow and cause air conditioner to shut down completely. If filters are damaged, purchase replacements from appliance or hardware stores and replace old ones.
